It depends on who you ask? Sometimes couples look at specific arguments, cheating, lack of sex, etc as reasons for a break up. However, I think these are all results of a bigger problem which can be tied to the breakdown in communication.
What happened between Lawerence and Issa on Insecure? Issa cheated because Daniel gave her attention during a time when she wasn’t getting it from Lawerence. She for some reason didn’t feel wanted by Lawerence and instead of talking to him about it she sought comfort in another man. Lawerence was going through depression and couldn’t talk to Issa about it. They became disconnected and when she cheated it was easier for him to blame her for the breakup of the relationship rather than deal with what he was going through and what he contributed to the break up.

Lack of communication and lack of trust causes many breakups. A lot of times, lack of communication and lack of openness causes mistrust which also leads to breakups
You make a great point Daryle. Mistrust plays such a huge role in issues in relationships. Often because of our lack of trust for one another we keep up emotional walls.
I think we would all agree that lack of communication plays a great role in many break ups. I also think that a shift in a person’s attraction for their partner, or person they’re dating, is another major cause. Sometimes when you meet people, you are meeting the person that they have created to capture your attention. As time goes by, hidden characteristics and traits start to peek through. This can lead a person to second guess their feelings and attraction for the other person, causing them back out of the relationship.
Thank you Trazarra. You just introduced to whole other angle. Falling in love with the person’s Representative is a whole other topic in itself. I agree, most people are not authentic when they get into relationships because either they are afraid to be themselves or they don’t think they would be accepted by the other person. That only lasts so long before the real person is revealed.
